WooCommerce Tab Manager – Add, Remove, Reorder Tabs

If you find yourself need to add, remove or reorder WooCommerce tabs (in single product page), this post is what you need. I’m going to show you how you can use WooCommerce Tab Manager (a plugin) to:

  1. Add more tabs to WooCommerce product pages
  2. Remove tabs that you don’t need
  3. Re-arrange the tabs in the order you like

Now, let’s get started.

The default WooCommerce product page tabs

By default, on a single product page, you’ll see the following tabs:

These three tabs come with almost all WooCommerce products. I said almost because the Additional Information is not available in WooCommerce simple product. It is usually seen in variable products. However, since the information in that tab is not particularly useful, there are many people seek a method to remove it.

If you want to remove that tab, no worries, I’m going to show you later in this post.

Get WooCommerce Tab Manager plugin

To accomplish things we are going to do in this post, you need to get WooCommerce Tab Manager plugin.

Remove WooCommerce default tabs

Now, with the plugin installed and activated, let’s go to WooCommerce->Tab manager:

To remove a WooCommerce default tab, click on Default tab layout:

To remove a tab, simply click on the remove button at the right of that tab and then click on Save changes.

For example, I’m going to remove the additional information tab on my product page. Let’s see the product page now:

As you can see the additional information tab is removed.

Change WooCommerce tab name with WooCommerce Tab Manager

Still in the “Default Tab Layout” tab, you can see that you can change the tab title and heading.

For example, for the description tab, it currently has the following title and heading:

Now, I want to change:

  1. Description to info
  2. Product description to Product information

I can do it quite easily in WooCommerce Tab Manager.

This is the default title and heading:

Now, I’ll update to the new information:

Save the changes and view the product page:

As you can see, the Description tab title and heading are changed to the value I set.

Add global tabs that available to all products

Now, what if you want to add tab to all products on your store (you can limit that tab to show on specific categories only, I’ll show you later).

For example, I want add special thank you note to all customers in a tab. Thus, I’m going to add a tab called Thank you and the content should be the sincere thank you note.

In WooCommerce Tab Manager, click on Add Global tab and then start filling the content for that tab.

Click on Save tab to save the changes.

The tab is not visible on the product page yet. Now you need to click on Default Tab layout tab to add the thank you tab to the list of visible tabs.

On the Default Tab Layout screen, at the bottom right, you’ll notice that there is a select box and a button for you to add the tab to list of visible tab. Select the tab you want to add and click on Add:

Now you see that the new tab is added:

Save changes and view the product page. Sure enough, the new tab is there!

Configure the new tab to be available in specific product category only

If you want, you can make the new tab available in specific categories only. this make sense since there are information that isn’t related to all products on your store.

Switch to the list of tabs by click on Tabs and click on the tab you want to edit:

If you look at the right, you’ll see there is an input box to enter the list of categories that this tab is shown:

Save changes and you’ll see the tab is not available for all products but only products in your selected categories.

If you look at my tabs here:

You can see that the Thank you tab is below the Review tab.

What if you want to move the thank you tab up and push the review tab down?

It’s super easy.

Go to Default Tab Layout, if you hover the cursor over the tab headers, there is a four direct arrows icon appears. You can click and drag the tab to reorder them.

After dragging the tabs to your desired location, click on save changes and see the result:

Add tab to specific products

There are times you want to add tabs to one product or a few products only. In such cases, global tab is not what you need. Luckily, WooCommerce Tab Manager lets you configure tabs for single products.

Let’s edit one product to find out how to configure tabs for a single item.

In the product’s edit screen, scroll to the bottom and click on Tabs:

As you can see, by default, the tab content is disabled. To edit the settings, you need to check the box says “Override default tab layout”.

Now, you can see, the tab is active and you can start editing the tabs.

To add a new tab to this product only, click on the Add button at the bottom right of the screen to add a Custom tab. You can also add tabs that you added previously in WooCommerce->Tab manager:

Now, update the product and view the product page:

As you can see, the tab is added to the product page.

Final thoughts

As you can see, the plugin is very helpful when it comes to manage WooCommerce tab. You can edit tabs, remove tabs or add tabs to product pages. You can add tabs to all products using global tabs or add tabs to single products. The global tabs can be added to specific categories only. In my opinion, the plugin does a really good job as a WooCommerce tab manager.

[Tutorial] Let Customers Request Order Cancellation In WooCommerce

In WooCommerce, when a customer places an order on your store, the order status is processing. In rare case, the customer wants to cancel that order. In order to do so, she must contact the store owner to cancel the request. Thus, the process is long and it cost you manpower to handle the response.

This is what looks like in the customer’s dashboard:

As you can see, there is no option for the customer to cancel the order.

What if you can let the customer send a cancellation request on their dashboard? That would be a convenient solution for both of you.

In this post, I’m going you exactly that. You’ll know how to let customers request order cancellation in WooCommerce in less than 5 minutes.

How To Let Customers Request Order Cancellation In WooCommerce

The first thing you need to do is to enable a plugin called WC Cancel order.

You can also install by searching for WC Cancel Order in your dashboard by going to Plugins->Add new.

Now, activate the plugin and you are done.

Isn’t it great?

There isn’t any configurations to work with. The plugin simply works.

Now, in the customer’s dashboard, it will look like this:

You can notice the difference, there is a Cancel button at the end of every “processing” order.

If the customer click on that button, the order isn’t cancelled yet. However, its status will be “Cancel Request”.

You can see the status change in your dashboard too:

It is up to you to update the order status. The customers only send a request, you are the one who decide whether to accept the request or not.

Conclusion

You can see, it’s very simple to let users request order cancellation in WooCommerce. You may think that it would be nice to have a dialog box to prevent customer accidentally click on Cancel button. Fortunately, that option is available in the pro version of the plugin.

[Solved] WooCommerce Additional Email Recipients

By default, there are only two parties that get emails when an action is performed in WooCommerce. They are the store owner and the customer.

For example, when an order is placed, the store owner gets one email, the customer get one email.

What if you want to add additional recipients to those emails? Maybe your wife says: “Hey, add my email so I can see how well you are doing”.

Who can refuse, right?

OK, you have your own reasons. No matter what they are, today, I’m going to guide you how to enable WooCommerce additional email recipients.

How to enable WooCommerce additional email recipients

Were are going to need a free WooCommerce plugin for this. Let’s download https://wordpress.org/plugins/wc-multiple-email-recipients/ to get started.

The plugin is very simple and its interface is easy to use.

After you install and activate the plugin, click on the Settings link right below the plugin’s name:

You can see that there are 5 fields for you to enter additional emails. That’s right, you can’t enter more than 5 addition emails. Most of the time, people are happy with this limit. However, if you want to add more than 5 people to receive your store’s emails (maybe all your family members want to know how well you manage your store), then please let me know. I can do a custom work for you.

Next, you’ll notice a list of checkboxes. Those are the emails that you want to send to those additional addresses. For example, you want to save your wife from those brutal refund notifications. Thus, you will not tick the box at the left of refund emails.

Plugin’s limitations

There you have it: a simple plugin that helps you enable woocommerce additional email recipients. In my opinion, this plugin serves its purposes well. However, there are some limitations:

  1. You cannot restrict what emails are sent to what addressed. Once you enter the email addresses in one of those 5 fields, they will get all the emails that checked.
  2. You only can send to 5 emails

#1 Plugin To Customize WooCommerce Related Products

WooCommerce related products, in case you are not aware are the products that displayed at the end of any single product page. By default, WooCommerce get related products for any product by looking for products in the current product’s categories. In addition, products that share the same tag(s) are considered related.

Let’s take a look at the default display of WooCommerce related products in my demo site ( running WooCommerce 3.7.0 & Storefront).

In my case here, I’m viewing a dress and the related products are also dressed since they are from the same category.

What if you want to change the products that display in this section. Maybe you want:

  • Show products from different categories
  • Pick some specific products to display in the related product section of this product
  • Set a different set of related products for one or a few products only

Let me show you how to do that with my new plugin BC Ultimate Related Products.

Before we begin, here are the product categories on my demo site:

Let’s dig into our first case. For example, I want that when people view products of Dress, in the related products section, products from Jeans and Hoodies are shown.

I know this may not make sense. This is just a demonstration of the way the plugin works.

Let’s go to the BC Ultimate Related Products screen. Here is what we have:

To achieve what we need in this case, we only focus on the first section: Pick related products for category by categories

Here is what we are going to do. First, as we need to set two categories as related, let’s click the leftmost plus sign to add another category select box:

Now we have the structure set up, let’s configure the categories.

As you can remember, we need to display products from Jeans and Hoodies as related products when viewing products from Dress. So, here is the correct setting:

Save the settings and view one product from Dress category. Here is what we have:

As you can see, we have successfully complete the case. Products from Jeans and hoodies are shown in the related products section.

Let’s try another case.

In this case, instead of selecting categories for related products, we choose some specific products as related products for all products in a particular category.

If that’s sound confusing, let me give you an example.

Take the Dress category again. This time, we want to setup that when visitors view any product in Dress category, they will see three products that we pick.

Let’s get started.

We are going to focus on the second section of the plugin:

Similar to the above case, we select Dress in the left. However, on the right, it’s not a select box. Instead, it’s a box where you can search products by typing a few characters. There is no limit on how many products you can select.

Let me pick 3 random products for the sake of demonstration.

Save the settings and check one product from Dress category again.

As you can see, I got exactly three products in picked displayed here in the related products section.

We have one case left, let’s begin.

For some reason, I want to treat some products specially. For example, I want to select only two related products for the dress we use from the beginning of this post.

Here is how to achieve that with BC Ultimate Related Products.

Let’s focus on the third section of the plugin.

On the left, there is a box where you can search for products and pick one product. On the right, it’s similar to the #2 case. It’s a product search box where you can pick multiple products.

Let me quickly pick two products as related product for the TSE Cashmere… product.
